That’s so interesting that sometimes spoilers can convince you to read a book! I personally don’t love spoilers especially tragic ones. I think I’m okay with minor spoilers that pique my interest more, but no I don’t really want to know how stories end ahead of time if I can help it.

Interesting! I get what you mean when you say that there are two different ways to enjoy the reading experience: one being wondering about what happens next, and the other being enjoying the storytelling craft. The thing is that, I don't know that one excludes the other? Or better put, I don't know that I'm one or the other: I feel more like I'm both, depending on what I'm reading/watching 🤔 It's like choosing between the "reader's glasses" or the "writer's glasses". I enjoy both - and most of the time I decide to pick up the writer's glasses only once a book has piqued my interest as a reader, meaning it has kept me on the edge of the seat while reading it.

I wonder about Sanderson and Wells too! I've heard in Sanderson's podcast that he tends not to rewatch movies (with exceptions - and I don't remember if he said the same about books). I've discovered the joy of re-reading things only in the last couple of years, actually!
